Beginning with the imagination of what might happen when two objects of vastly different sizes communicate, this work is inspired by the conversation between a dwarf girl and a human boy in Mary Norton's The Borrowers, the original novel of Studio Ghibli's The Secret World of Arrietty (the dialogue has been adapted). In the original novel, the dialogue between the dwarf girl and the human boy is printed using the same font and size, occupying equal space on the page. However, in reality, due to the difference in body size, the volume and pitch of their voices would vary, and their speech patterns would be influenced by their emotional states. Moreover, because of their differing heights, the boy would struggle to find the girl, while the girl would find it difficult to see the boy entirely due to his size.

This book visualizes the emotions and sound differences caused by size disparities through typography. It was produced in different sizes according to the speaker's size. Through this book, I hope to offer an experience of communicating as a gigantic creature with another being so small it is barely visible, and conversely, an experience of being a dwarf, navigating unfamiliar spaces revealed between colossal, unpredictable forms.
